Privacy Policy

  1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy (“Policy”) governs the collection, use, and disclosure of personal information by the Best Water Tracker app (“App”) provided by Palm Bits LLC (“developers,” “we,” or “us”). By accessing or using the App, you consent to the collection, use, and disclosure of your personal information in accordance with this Policy. Capitalized terms not defined in this Policy have the meaning set forth in the ToS.

  2. Personal Information

The developers do not collect any personal information from you. All information you input into the App, including hydration data, is stored locally on your device and is not transmitted to us. Your data may be backed up to iCloud if you have enabled iCloud backups on your device. Any backups you enable to Apple HealthKit or other backup providers will be governed by those organization's Terms of Service and Privacy Policies.

However, to support our app through an ad-supported model, we may collect data related to app usage that is used solely for the purpose of delivering advertisements within the App. This data does not include personal information inputted by you, such as your hydration data. Our advertising partners may also collect data in accordance with their own privacy policies, and we encourage you to review these policies to understand their data practices.

  3. Data Collection, Use, and Processing Practices

The App uses local storage for operational functionality, ensuring the information you input, including your hydration data, remains private. To support our free services, we've partnered with Google/AdMob for targeted advertising. This collaboration may involve collecting specific data to enhance ad relevance and the user experience, including:

    • IP address, which may be used to estimate the general location of a device.
    • Non-user related crash logs, which may be used to diagnose problems and improve the SDK. Diagnostic information may also be used for advertising and analytics purposes.
    • User-associated performance data such as app launch time, hang rate, or energy usage, which may be used to evaluate user behavior, understand the effectiveness of existing product features, and plan new features. Performance data may also be used for displaying ads, including sharing with other entities that display ads.
    • A Device ID, such as the device's advertising identifier or other app- or developer-bounded device identifiers, which may be used for the purpose of third-party advertising and analytics.
    • Advertising data, such as advertisements the user has seen, may be used to power analytics and advertising features.
    • Other user product interactions like app launch taps, and interaction information, like video views, may be used to improve advertising performance.

For detailed information on how Google collects, shares, and uses this data, we encourage you to review their policies and practices by visiting Google's Ad and Data Privacy. To manage your preferences or opt-out of personalized ads, visit Google's My Ad Center.

You can also control whether you receive personalized advertisements through an in-app onboarding prompt or from your device settings. For more information, visit Apple's Privacy and Control.

Your continued use of the App constitutes acceptance of these practices, designed to keep our services free while respecting your data privacy.

  4. Data Retention

All personal data inputted by you, including hydration information, is stored locally on your device and remains under your control. You can delete this data at any time. For the operation of the App, we do not retain any personal data beyond what is strictly necessary.

Data collected for advertising purposes, such as app usage patterns facilitated by Google/AdMob, is governed by specific retention policies aligned with enhancing ad relevance, and is handled according to Google's privacy standards, which you can review by visiting Google's Ad and Data Privacy.

  5. User Account

You are not currently required to create an account to use the App. However, you accept and agree that we may make this a requirement in the future. If we do require an account for use, you are solely responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account information and any relevant password or third party credentials. You additionally agree to accept responsibility for all activities that would occur under your account.

  6. Your Rights

You retain full control over your personal data. At any time, you can delete any personal data stored locally on your device by either managing your data within the App (such as hydration data) or by deleting the App itself.

You also have rights regarding the data collected for advertising purposes by Google/AdMob. This includes the right to opt out of personalized advertising, review and modify ad preferences, and access information collected about you for advertising. For more details on managing your advertising preferences and rights, please visit Google's Ad and Data Privacy.

  7. Children's Privacy

The App does not knowingly collect or solicit personal information from children. All user data, including hydration information, is stored locally on the user's device. We do not have mechanisms to determine the age of our users and rely on parental guidance to prevent underage use of our app where data collection for advertising by third parties like Google/AdMob is concerned.

  8. Contact Us

If you have any questions or concerns about this Policy or our privacy practices, please contact us at legal@palmbits.com.

  9. Changes To Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. The most current version of this Policy will be available from the App and will supersede all previous versions. We will make a best effort to communicate any changes to the Policy within the App, but we reserve the right to modify the Policy without prior notice to you. By continuing to use the App, you agree to be bound by any changes made to this Policy. It is your responsibility to review the Policy periodically to ensure that you are aware of any changes made to the Policy. If you do not agree to the modified terms, you must stop using the App.
